Save videos and GIFs from X posts

X shows GIFs as short, looping MP4 videos – so they download as ordinary MP4 files that play everywhere. If a post contains more than one video, each of them is listed separately.

  • Videos – MP4 in the highest resolution X provides for the post, often 720p or 1080p
  • GIFs – saved as looping MP4 videos, or converted to a real GIF file (Twitter GIF downloader)
  • MP3 – only the sound of a video, if you just need the audio
  • All link styles – x.com, twitter.com, mobile links and share links from fxtwitter / vxtwitter / fixupx

Frequently asked questions

How do I download a video from Twitter / X?

Copy the link of the post (share icon → Copy link), paste it into BestDownloader and tap Download. The video is saved as an MP4.

Can I download Twitter GIFs?

Yes. X stores GIFs as short MP4 videos, so they are downloaded as looping MP4 files – or, with one tap on GIF, as a real .gif file. See the Twitter GIF downloader.

Why does it say there is no video in the post?

The post probably contains only text or photos, the account is protected, or X shows the media only to logged-in users (for example age-restricted content).

Does it work with x.com and twitter.com links?

Yes, both domains work, including mobile links and links from embed helpers such as fxtwitter or vxtwitter.

Is it free?

Yes – no registration, no subscription and no ads.
